Add Packaging (Creating Packaging Options)
What is Add Packaging?
The Add Packaging page is where you create a new packaging option within Pimento.
Packaging options help define what packaging is available during fulfilment and how orders should be packed.
Packaging Fields
When creating packaging, you will need to complete several fields.
Name
The name field is used to identify the packaging option.
Examples include:
Small Box
Medium Bag
Large Mailer
Standard Vintage Clothes Bag
The name should be clear and easy for warehouse operators to recognise.
Client
The client field determines which client the packaging belongs to.
This is important because different clients may use different packaging materials or branded packaging.
Format
The format field defines the packaging type.
For example:
Parcel
Mailer Bag
Box
This helps categorise packaging during fulfilment.
Barcode
The barcode field can be used if the packaging has a barcode attached for scanning purposes.
This field is optional.
Weight
The weight field refers to the weight of the empty packaging itself.
This is measured in grams.
The packaging weight contributes to the total shipment weight once products are packed inside.
For example:
If products weigh 500 grams and the packaging weighs 50 grams, the final shipment weight becomes 550 grams.
